1. doodle-muse:

This is why I love Molly Hooper:
Molly was quiet mouse-like woman who everyone overlooked and stepped on and didn’t care about, and she fell in love with a scathingly brilliant consulting detective who used her when he needed her and ignored her when he didn’t.
And then, when she saw that same man, the man she’d watched and listened to and looked after so frequently and so thanklessly for so long fraying at the edges, she said, “If you need me, I’m here.” Not because she was still infatuated, but because she saw another person hurting and knew he needed help. Molly saw what nobody else did. She saw that Sherlock was sad, and upset, and maybe even afraid, and more than that she saw what I think she has always seen: that underneath the acerbic exterior and cruel words and ice-cold persona, Sherlock is a good person. Not a hero, but someone worth caring for even when he doesn’t act like it, because there is a heart in him, and it’s worth loving.
Molly Hooper is awesome because she saw Sherlock’s need for that care more clearly than anyone. Molly Hooper is awesome because she gave Sherlock the support he needed to be, maybe, for just a moment, a hero.
